Using discretion before calling a Maryland medical malpractice lawyer. Or to put it another way, when should you call a lawyer?
We were contacted by a gentleman who recently underwent an outpatient procedure. Immediately after the procedure he began to experience symptoms that he equated to being a result of the anesthesia. His call was frantic. He indicated that he knew something was wrong because he knows his body and he had never felt like (his symptoms) previously.
MY GUT IS TELLING ME THAT SOMETHING IS WRONG
His concerns centered on the feeling that something bad happened during the procedure and that the result was an injury. His chief complaints included pain around the incision site, bloating, headaches and pain around the sites where the anesthesia was administered locally.
FOLLOW UP WITH YOUR SURGEON
Due to the residual pain the caller was feeling being in such close proximity to his recent procedure, we discussed with him the need for follow up with his surgeon. In this case his surgeon is better equipped to answer any questions due to the short lapse in time from the completion of the procedure.
This is what I mean by using discretion before calling a Maryland medical malpractice lawyer. The doctor in this case would be the best person to speak with about any issues following the procedure because the doctor had just done the work on the patient. I am not saying that you should never contact a Maryland medical malpractice lawyer after a surgery (compare a surgery is supposed to be done of the left leg and the doctors operate on the right leg), what I am saying is that a complete review of your situation should be performed first.
AN INJURY IS CONFIRMED ON A SECOND OPINION
