A nuchal cord can be dangerous for a baby. Due to certain circumstances, parents can be alerted to a potential brain injury to their baby. For example, the baby’s complexion may be blue, passing meconium, and suffering from seizures, which is an important sign of a possible brain injury. The baby must be rushed to the NICU due to a nuchal cord causing these things and the doctors failing to recognize and properly treat the condition.
