Hypoxic Ischemic Encephalopathy And Preeclampsia

A brain injury can occur when a baby suffers from a reduced level of blood and oxygen. The term hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy deals with the reduction of blood and oxygen, which then leads to a brain injury. Preeclampsia can be the precursor of hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy due to the blood pressure problems in the mother associated with preeclampsia. Being that the baby depends on the mother for survival, issues with the mother can also turn into problems for the baby.
