Because of the crash the injured person is contacted by the insurance company for the person who hit them. The adjuster for the insurance company offers money to the injured person.
Deep down the injured person wants the money offered and will not participate in any treatment from their doctor because of other life obligations. Add to this, the injured person does not have the patience to wait months or possibly years, for their case to go to court.
Can you see how in this situation it may not be in this person’s best interest to hire an attorney? Hiring an attorney might be at odds with the stated goals above. Therefore, to the question of should you always hire a lawyer for your personal injury case, the answer will be, it depends.
