Attorney Marcus Boston, in this video talks about why it is so important to get a second opinion in breast cancer cases, especially if it seems that the treating doctor is not meeting the patient’s needs.
In this video Mr. Boston details the struggles of a young woman who had a history of breast cancer in her family. After discovering a lump in her breast, which was determined to be cancerous, she opted for a double mastectomy.
After the procedure she did feel a lot better, howver, after a while she did not begin to feel well. She reported these feelings to her doctor and he did perform scans on her. The scans came back “normal.” However, the young lady still did not feel that things were right.
She eventually did get a second opinion and it was discovered that she was battling stage 4 breast cancer. Her second doctor told her that she should have had blood work done also with the scans.
